New Year, New Goals: Reflecting and Recalibrating for 2025 🌱

The start of a new year always feels like a fresh page in a journal, filled with promise and potential. As I step into 2025, I’ve been reflecting on the past year—what worked, what didn’t, and where I want to go next. One big lesson from 2024? I let myself slip back into a corporate headspace.

You know the one: constant productivity, endless multitasking, and a creeping sense that no matter how much you accomplish, it’s never enough. It’s a mindset I thought I’d left behind, but it quietly crept back in. This year, I’m breaking that cycle.

2025 is about recalibrating, refocusing, and creating with intention. Let me share how I’m making this happen.

📚 Publishing Goals for 2025

First and foremost, my passion is storytelling. This year, I’m thrilled to bring you:

  • A Ward of the State (coming June 1): A dystopian novel that explores resilience and identity in an unraveling world.

  • Short Stories in the Unborn Child Protection Act Series: These tales expand the world of my previous novels, diving deeper into personal and societal conflicts.

  • Two Exclusive Companion Books for my Super Fans:

    • Rylee’s Journal Entries: A glimpse into her life from middle school to college.

    • Baby Journal: A month-by-month account of Rylee’s pregnancy, full of raw emotion and reflection.

These projects are close to my heart, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

💻 Smarter Strategies for Creativity and reclaiming my time

One of the biggest changes I’m making this year is stepping away from smaller projects like articles and Patreon to focus entirely on books. Spreading myself too thin was just too draining and my creativity suffered.

Instead, I’m streamlining:

  • Centralized Tools: No more juggling multiple calendars and platforms. One system, one focus.

  • Work-Life Balance: If Australia can mandate paid time off, so can I. In 2025:

    • Holidays and time off are non-negotiable. I may not be up to taking 38 days away from my keyboard but I’m going to try!

    • Weekends are for unwinding, not working.

    • Time off is for reconnecting—with family, hobbies, and even learning new things like chess!

This shift is about more than just rest—it’s about creating the mental space to dream, reflect, and recharge.

🌟 Super Fans, This One’s for You

This year, I’m launching a Super Fan Portal! This free platform is my way of giving back to my most loyal readers. Members will gain access to exclusive content, including:

  • Behind-the-scenes insights into my creative process.

  • Bonus materials and sneak peeks of upcoming books.

  • Special updates about events and milestones.

More details are coming soon, but I’m excited to build a space where we can connect on a deeper level.

These changes won’t just benefit me—they’ll benefit you, too. By focusing on fewer, more meaningful projects, I’ll be able to bring you richer, more engaging stories. The Super Fan Portal will provide a closer look into my work, and a streamlined schedule means I’ll have the energy to connect with you more deeply.

Thank you for being part of my publishing journey. Your support inspires and I can’t wait to see what we create together in 2025.

M.E.
